Online Applications Now Open

Important Information before submitting your application/s:


  1. Please read the Terms and Conditions carefully before applying online.
  2. All fields are required for online form. You must try your best to fill in all details, unless not applicable.
  3. Please list your sample video (link on you tube) with the following details on application form: Film Title, Duration, Category and Applicant’s Name, contact & email.

Terms & Conditions


  1. Entry Fees: There will be an entry fee charged at acceptance of application. Full amount - AUD30,                       Student - AUD25.
  2. Entry fees are non-refundable.
  3. Student must provide proof of student card and ID number.
  4. You may submit as many application as you want but you will be charged for every entry acceptance.
  5. Applicant must be at least 18 years of age.
  6. If applicable during application: Please list your sample video (link on you tube) with the following details on application form: Film Title, Duration, Category and Applicant’s Name, contact & email.
  7. All entries MUST comply with one of our environmental theme: 'Nature is Our Future' or '10 is the New Green';
  8. Entry's theme must also comply with our presenter's product or item. You will be notified with details once your application has been accepted.
  9. All entries MUST be no more than 60 Seconds of running time and in Commercial (Advertisement) format.
  10. All entries (1ST SUBMISSION) must be MPEG-2, MPEG-4, or H.264 and email to danc_entertainment@inbox.com for judging purposes.
  11. Finalists will be notified by email or phone.
  12. ALL Finalists MUST RE-SUBMIT final work on DVD or USB drive upon notification for presentation purposes.
  13. All final work must be in English or have English subtitles.
  14. All final work must be completed by 17 September 2010 and must not submit later than 17 September 2010 or your entry will be disqualified without prior notification.
  15. You may if you wish to submit you final work from your previous projects but must comply with given theme and free from agreements, legals, contracts, or etc.
  16. Submission before receiving your entry fee/s will be disqualified, therefore you must ensure that we have received your application fee before you submit your final work. You will be notified via email.
  17. Judging (selection) is based on artistic merit, compliance with given theme and/or product, promote and create awareness on environmental issues, by our judging panel co-ordinated by danc entertainment. We seek commercials that gives credit to our community and our existing environmental factors. 
  18. All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their final work submission by 30 September 2010.
  19. All music scores used must have written permission or copyright. Otherwise scores composed individually must be put in writing with permission granted by its composer, producers, and etc. Software composed scores are also accepted (e.g. Soundtrack Pro, GarageBand).
  20. Finalists must submit their artwork (JPEG Stills) for publicity.
  21. Winner of 10:10 60 sec commercial competition will win SYDNEY FILM SCHOOL's exclusive course worth more than AUD500.00. Winner will also win other sponsored products and goodies. 
  22. Winner's work may be used for promotional and festival purposes. You will be notified for your attendance.
  23. Winner's work may be screen on commercial airtime, Pay TV, Internet, or other mediums for presenter's use.


Submission Formats


All applicant's 1st submission (via email) should be low resolution (MPEG-4), however if you fail to do so, you may also upload to YouTube Channel and email us the link for our perusal. 

1st DRAFT SUBMISSION FORMAT SHOULD BE:

  • VIDEO FORMAT: H.264, MPEG-2 OR MPEG-4
  • ASPECT RATIO: ORIGINATE ASPECT RATIO WITHOUT LETTERBOXING, E.G. 4:3 OR 16:9
  • RESOLUTION / DIMENSION: 640X360 (16:9) OR 480X360 (4:3)
  • AUDIO FORMAT: MP3, AAC, OR AIFF
  • RUNNING TIME: 00:00:60 SECONDS (NO MORE OR LESS), UNLESS YOU INCLUDE LONGER/SHORTER VERSIONS
  • MAXIMUM EMAIL FILE SIZE: 4GB PER VIDEO
FINALISTS RE-SUBMISSION FOR PROMOTIONAL AND SCREENING USE:
  • VIDEO FORMAT: QUICKTIME MOVIE OR HD FORMAT (PAL ONLY)
  • ASPECT RATIO: AS ABOVE
  • RESOLUTION/ DIMENSION: 640X360 (16:9) OR 480X360 (4:3)
  • AUDIO FORMAT: MP3, AAC, AIFF, OR DOLBY
  • RUNNING TIME: 00:00:60 SECONDS (NO MORE OR LESS), UNLESS YOU INCLUDE LONGER/SHORTER VERSIONS
  • SUBMISSION ON DVD, USB THUMB DRIVE OR EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE.
  • REGIONS: PAL ONLY - REGION FREE, REGION 4 OR REGION 0.
